Claire Doutre
Claire’s interest in immigration law was sparked by her own experience as she was born in France and immigrated to the United States and then to Argentina as a child. Claire loves learning new languages and she appreciates the importance of different cultures. Claire’s immigration law clinic professor is the person who inspired her to become an immigration attorney and try to make an impactful difference to defend immigrants’ rights.
Claire started practicing immigration law in Houston, Texas, representing refugees and asylum seekers, including vulnerable children in removal proceedings at one of the largest legal service providers in the country. She also represented clients in family-based petitions as well as naturalization. She has over a decade of experience in representing clients in front of EOIR, USCIS and ICE in various jurisdictions.
Claire has presented trainings about humanitarian law to large law firms and corporations across the country. She believes in the importance of trauma-informed representation throughout the legal process and making sure that her clients clearly understand their options.
